Designing the Set

Before designing the set we all first needed to decide on a theme. By looking through sites such as google images and Pinterest we all decided that we liked the idea of creating an industrial themed set. We then saved the pictures that inspired us to a mood board in order to keep our inspirations in one place. Most of the images that we liked included both wooden and metal aspects of design, such as walls made of wooden palettes and metal piping.

Once we had narrowed down a couple of designs that we liked the most, we took a trip to Bristol to visit the Children’s Scrapstore. With our design in mind and by looking at our mood board, we sourced items such as large black tubes, spun to disperse lighting, copper tubes, white pipes, coloured vinyl and spools of tube.

Even though we had a rough set design in mind, as the project progressed, our design and theme evolved with the addition of new props.
